Core Inspector

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Core Inspector to join our Exploration & Development Division in Viburnum, MO. The Core Inspector will sample, inspect, and prepare drill core for analysis in order to determine ore-rich areas and note rock anomalies that may help in determining ore deposit direction and potential hazards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspect and log drill surface and underground core
Saw, crush, and split core that has been drilled
Organize and store cores for future reference
Coordinate with surface diamond drillers for needed supplies and delivery of completed drill cores
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Credentials:
1 to 3 years of experience as a Core Inspector, preferred
Bachelor Degree in Geology or related field, required
2 or more years' experience training under a geologist or experienced Core Inspector, preferred
Core logging experience, preferred
Must maintain a valid, current driver's license
Basic computer skills, including the ability to use AcQuire (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with Geology and Geological terms
Ability to use light weight equipment, such as a forklift preferred
Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training, preferred
Knowledge of mine drilling and ore deposit grade
Well organized
Detail orientated
Work Environment:
Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
Regularly requires feeling attributes of objects, grasping, pushing, and standing. Occasionally requires sitting and repetitive movement. Requires clarity of vision and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
